1. Upload or Sync Your Video Content

Before creating a MRSS feed, make sure you’ve either uploaded video content or synced a video channel source. Your feed will pull directly from the content inside your VideoNest Media Library.

2. Open the MRSS Feed Generator

Navigate to the Media >Feeds section of your dashboard. You’ll see this message:

“You don't have a  feed yet. Create one to automatically generate an MRSS feed from your videos.”

Click Create Feed to get started. If you receive an error creating a feed, confirm you're on the VideoNest Business Plan, or reach out to support.

3. Design Your Video MRSS Feed Publishing Scheduele

Select where you want your feed to and how it's programmed. VideoNest offers the following MRSS & RSS Feed types:

• MSN Video: Matches the MSN Partner Hub MRSS requirements with additional configurable settings to maximize output and performance on MSN Start.
• Yahoo Video: Conforms to the RSS Advisory Board guidelines, from 2009 - yep!, wild. We ensure smooth and consitent delivery into Yahoo’s ecosystem.
• Custom Video: Gives you full, manual control. Directly choose specific videos to add into a feed, configure feeds individually, and  manually schedule releases as far in advance as you want.
• Default: The most hands-off option. Any video added to your library is automatically included in the feed with no additional work required.

4. Set Feed Details

• Feed Name
• : A name to identify your feed internally. Cannot have spaces. (e.g., "Daily-Clips-Feed-Vertifcal", "Podcast-Feed" or "MSN_NewsName_Vertical_Daily").‍
• URL Extension: The slug used in your feed URL — e.g., my-channel-feed → videonest.co/feeds/my-channel-feed.‍
• Email Address (optional): Add your email to receive notifications about new feed content or updates.‍‍
• ‍Make Feed Custom (Toggle): Enable to manually select which videos to include from your library.‍
• Publication Date Cutoff: Only include videos or audio published in your Media Library after this date.‍
• Feed Orientation: Choose:‍
  
  • Horizontal – Standard landscape videos‍
    
  • Vertical – For Shorts, Reels, TikToks, etc.‍
    
  • Both – Include all formats

• Content Type: Choose:
  • Video – Generate an MRSS video feed for distribution across video platforms, digital publishers, and more.
  • Audio – Generate an audio-only RSS feed, perfect for podcasts on:
    • Spotify
    • Apple Podcasts
    • Amazon Music
    • Any podcast partner that accepts RSS
  • Other - If your end delivery partner perfects direct download, Amazon S3 Sync, Google Drive or other, reach out to our team.

Pro Tip: If you’re running a podcast, select “Audio” and your feed will automatically follow podcast standards and prompt you to upload high-resolution Podcast Title Artwork, 1000px x 1000px.

• Resolution
  Select the playback resolution for videos in the feed (e.g., 720p, 1080p). All content will be converted to match.
• Min Duration / Max Duration
  Filter the feed by content length (in minutes). This helps separate short-form clips from long-form content.

5. Publish Your Feed

Once you’ve configured everything, click Create Feed.

Your MRSS or Audio RSS feed is now live! You’ll receive a public feed URL in XML formal you can use & send to:

• Distribute videos to third-party partner and platforms (Yahoo!, MSN,,Roku, Plex, Samsung, etc.)
• Submit your audio RSS podcast feed to Spotify, Apple, iHeartRadio etc.
• Create feeds for media partners and automated video publishing delivery in any language.

Tips for Video Distribution Success with MRSS Feeds

• Use multiple feeds: Create separate feeds for different time durations, platforms or formats. Different distributors may need specific settings.
• Keep it clean: Set a publication cutoff to exclude outdated content.
• Confirm Reporting Source: MRSS Feeds deliver a raw video file, ensure you have a content sharing partnershi in place, or receive performance reporting from your partners before providing a MRSS XML file URL.
• Podcast-ready: With our audio RSS feed, videos are automatically turned into podcasts.
